# Now

Updated

June 2026

What's going on for me right now. (Inspired by [the /now movement](https://nownownow.com/about).)

### Pivot

As much as I like automation and helping upgrade their operations with technology, it's taking me away from what I truly want to do: use games to improve people's lives. The game techniques we have invented and used for millenia has captivated people. I'm still unsure why we don't use those to solve some of the biggest problems we have. But here we are. That's what I want to dedicate my life to right now. I don't know if it means keep pushing on what I'm doing, or study again (maybe a PhD?), or keep building, write a book, partner with someone else. I have no idea and it's scary but I'm ready to embrace the leap of faith. I'm lucky enough to know what I want to do with my life. I'll use this to guide me. Read more about what I have in mind here.

### Rock climbing

I've now put a solid 9 months of consistent training. Two sessions per week. Seldom one. I always weightlift right after. I can now do a solid 15-20 seconds of an L-sit and I do roughly 9 pull-ups with 13kg (roughly 26 pounds). I've never been this strong and I intend of getting stronger. My next goal is go back to a decent level of top rope without getting too tired. I also want to push myself and stop fearing lead climbing. I get this massive amount of fear when I'm close to falling. I need to conquer this. But the main goal will be consistency. When my first kid was born, I barely climbed and I was not fit. I want to be able to hold my kids in my arms for as long as possible

### Kids and work

Combining those two has probably been the culmination of all the stress I could ever feel in my life. Each one of them is stressful as it is. But combining the two is a dreadful combo. I'm properly struggling to find a balance. I'm tilting toward "there is no balance" and I need to find a way to absorb the stress, let go, and sooth my nervous system consistently somehow. I do think it's going to be key to have my lifestyle nailed down (sleep, sport, diet, etc.)
